Juniper Networks Enhances Portfolio of High-Performance Ethernet Services Routers

Juniper Networks expanded the range of interface cards for its MX-series portfolio of Ethernet Services Routers with the addition of three new interchangeable dense port concentrator (DPC) families.

With increased flexibility to support a wider range of Ethernet network architectures in both the enterprise and service provider markets, Juniper's MX-series provides customers with the ability to expand and accelerate the deployment of carrier-class Ethernet networks and services.

"Juniper's MX-series platforms are a key enabler as we seek to maximize the value of our asset by increasing efficiency and capacity on our network while accelerating the delivery of innovative, high-performance services," said Clive Dorsman, chief operating officer at The Carphone Warehouse Networks.

On the other hand, Dave Passmore, research director, Burton Group said, Juniper has enhanced their market position with the addition of these new line cards that broaden MX-series deployment options and lower costs for both enterprise and service provider customers. In particular, the MX-series copper interfaces will help address enterprise needs by supporting smaller, limited configuration requirements.
