Juniper Networks has appointed Mark Prior as director for the Asia Pacific research and education networking business. Prior would be responsible for Juniper’s relationship with research and educational organizations and the channel partners that serve them.
Before joining Juniper, Prior was chief technology officer for the Australian National Research and Education Network, AARNet, which provides Internet services to Australia's universities, CSIRO, DSTO and other cultural, education and research bodies. He helped design and implement the third generation of the AARNet network, AARNet3. Before AARNet, Prior was with connect.com.au, one of Australia’s first commercial ISPs, as Network Architect (Backbone Engineering).
On his appointment Gary Kinsley, enterprise vice president, Juniper Networks Asia Pacific, said, “Mark’s job is to meet the highly specific needs of R&E organisations, which operate some of the highest-performing and most advanced non-carrier networks in Asia Pacific today. His role is to help R&E professionals design and build next generation networks with increased availability, operational efficiency and flexible foundations.” |
