Datacraft to Expand VMware based Offerings in AP

IT services and solutions company Datacraft said it plans to start offering a broad range of datacenter virtualization and consolidation services based on VMware’s datacenter virtualisation and management suite, VMware Infrastructure, for clients throughout Asia Pacific.

With the new partnership, Singapore based Datacraft will be able to address the widely acknowledged need among businesses for more efficient server utilisation and reduced datacenter footprint, in the face of mounting pressure to cut costs, reduce energy consumption, and minimise environmental impact.

According to Andy Cocks, Datacraft’s Director for Solutions and Alliance, datacenters in many Asian companies are getting increasingly crowded, as corresponding new servers are added, resulting in challenges such as limited floor space; inadequate server cooling; slow application provisioning; ineffective backup and disaster recovery and low server utilisation rates.

“The VMware platform allows Datacraft to help companies more easily manage the operations of their datacenter. This process results in greater efficiency and allows the number of servers in a data centre to be consolidated – saving money, space and increased capacity for future growth,” added Cocks.

Datacraft will start implementing its server virtualization solutions for its blue-chip clientele across 13 countries in Asia Pacific.
