Voxbone Strengthens Foothold in AP, Establishes S’pore Office

Voxbone, a provider of local telephone numbers and VoIP (Voice Over internet Protocol) transport, has expanded its presence in the Asia Pacific (AP) region, officially establishing its regional headquarters in Singapore this week.

Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, Voxbone services, which include DID (direct inward dialing) and toll-free numbers are deployed by mobile operators, PSTN carriers, VoIP providers, call center operators and NGN service providers worldwide.

“We are bullish about the explosive growth in new applications due to the pervasiveness of broadband and the increase in access speeds, particularly in APAC countries,” said Rodrigue Ullens, CEO and co-founder of Voxbone.

“We selected Singapore as our regional base for expansion in APAC because the country is one of the major telecommunications hub in the region.”

“Likewise, Singapore’s regulatory structure is R&D-friendly and the government places strong emphasis on new technology, as evident in nationwide initiatives such as municipal outdoor broadband access, full number portability and NGN networks, to name a few,” added Ullens.

Parallel to this announcement, Voxbone also appointed ex Pacific Internet (now PacNet) executive Lee Tian Yew as vice president for AP to direct its sales, business development and operations in the region.

Furthermore, Voxbone said it had received licenses to operate in both Japan and Hong Kong.

Voxbone now operates in 44 countries and 5,000 cities globally.
