AT&T first U.S Carrier to Deploy Yahoo! oneSearch as Default Mobile Search Engine

AT&T and Yahoo have announced that beginning this week Yahoo! oneSearchTM will power mobile Internet searches made through AT&T's on-deck MEdia Net portal.

This initiative makes AT&T the first U.S. carrier to integrate Yahoo!'s innovative mobile search service directly into their portal.

Yahoo! oneSearch will provide customers who search AT&T MEdia Net with access to news, financial information, weather conditions, Flickr(TM) photos and Web images, as well as Web and mobile web sites. Yahoo! oneSearch will also display relevant ringtones, wallpaper, games and other content available in the AT&T MEdia Mall within search results, eliminating the need for customers to search within a separate window for downloadable content.

AT&T's YELLOWPAGES.COM will provide local search information to customers as part of the agreement.

Also beginning this week, Yahoo plans to provide mobile-sponsored search advertising within mobile search results conducted through the AT&T MEdia Net portal.

"Our customers want mobile search to be convenient and intuitive, and Yahoo! oneSearch is an important step for us in delivering that level of experience to them," said Michael Bowling, vice president--Converged Services, AT&T.

"Together, AT&T and Yahoo! are meeting consumer demand for compelling mobile services, while creating scale for advertisers, enabling them to reach the rapidly growing audience of mobile consumers."
